Meet the Pastor
David was born in New York City but later grew up in East Orange, NJ. When he was 18 years old that he came to know salvation in Jesus Christ. In his quest to discover God's plan for his life, he enlisted in the Army's 82nd Airborne division at Fort Bragg, NC. where he met his wife, Sonji.
She grew up in a small town of Southwest Louisiana. In 1983, while attending McNeese State University, she too came face to face with the reality of Jesus Christ - through a student ministry on campus. But in the winter of 1985 found herself in the same search . . . for God's plan for her life. As opportunity allowed, her search led her to North Carolina, which they both believe lead them to each other - to be partners in life and ministry.
In 1987, they returned to Louisiana and married. While studying through Rhema Bible College, ministry began for David in the oilfield. Working on offshore drilling rigs, he began to hold Church services for men who were away from home for weeks on end and share of the love and goodness of Christ.
In 2001, he founded Prison House Missions, a ministry to men incarcerated in Louisiana. His heart has been to bring the Good News of life and freedom to those who are without hope. PHM has supplied much needed equipment to help facilitate Church services within the prisons.
In August of 2006, during its inception, David became Pastor of The Dwelling Place where he and Sonji continue to serve God and His people, side by side. Their desire continues . . . to see others come to know and experience for themselves the wonder of a relationship with their Creator.
